Looking into it!

Doing that definitely does pay off. Some of these companies are jsut too free and easy with their little ‘deals.’

When I signed up for Lifeline, the rep told me the installation fee of $70 (!!!) was being waived for a certain length of time. (Installation: Plug it into the wall, plug the phone into it, test the buzzer to see if it works at far distances in the house or apt. That’s it. I admit that my eyebrows went up a tad. He had the good grace to blush.) So I expected my first time bill to be around $50. It was $120, the $70 had been added. So I called the rep, complained and he said the company told him I could go ahead and deduct the $50 when he called to find out about it.

I let it set a few days and then wrote them a letter; this is what I was told and this is what I expect — the rep’s words should be honored. They finally did cash my check…for the $50.

That kind of doings doesn’t fly with me and I will definitely make waves. Besides, $70 is a ridiculous amount.
