LOLOLOL

Hearing aids – are a boon to the hard-of-hearing public but I have seen that it doesn’t take a cat to cause you to lose one of the #$%^&*() things. I’m ROFLing like crazy here. (ROFL, for those of you initiated ones, means roll on the floor laughing! And I am.)

Like all of you, I bit the bullet today. I had an appt to see about getting a less expensive one and, after a long discussion with the audiologist whom I realized was also in the business of hearing aid sales, decided to get a pair of the less expensive ones. I was, and am, not really happy with these two and so perhaps these next two will be better. Everything now of course is digital (and ask me not to explain the difference between analog – the old stuff, hearing aids AND cellphones – and digital: I have no clue) and perhaps that will make a difference. In addition, the company no longer makes the one like I already have and who knows if the old one and the new one work “work together.” So in some two weeks or so, I shall have new hearing aids and what with the plane ticket to FL (leaving 12/20) and something else I forgot I have also on my credit card, it now reaches the level of the national debt.

I have no doubt but what I’ll find the miserable thing somewhere and shall keep them both safe as backups. Remember to take out the battery, Jo!

The first thing that happened to me today however was when I pulled up to the toll booth on the PA Turnpike to go to the audiologist. I found I had no cash…nothing! Dust in the wallet! So of course I had to pull into the parking lot but it was more pleasant than I was afraid of. Woman came out and took down the info, gave me a little piece of paper with the $1.50 toll plus $1 processing fee and the address to send my check. I was once again on my way, some 20 minutes later and not late for the appt at all. Amazing. Neighbor couple was commisserating with me about the toll booth and the $$$ for the hearing aids and offered me a beer and a couple slices of pizza. I took them. Both!

Ah the fun and games of life.
