Books and Opera

I am almost through with the second of the Snelling book on the Red River where I grew up. The books are a very easy read and have quite a bit of religion in the story; I am enjoying reading about the homesteading and the local. Much has been written about that era but I enjoy reading it again, especially it happened where I grew up.
I spent a long day in NY yesterday on a bus trip to the Met. We had lunch there and saw Aieda . The opera was great and it was a very enjoyable day but long. I fell into bed shortly after getting home. We left at nine in the morning and got home at 7:30 PM. It was worth it though.
Our Sunday paper had a review of Ken Follett’s new book. The reviewer said that he wrote on a number of subjects, not just the architecture of a bridge. If you enjoyed reading Pillar’s of the Earth you will enjoy this one. I am looking forward to reading it.
