Amazon delivery
A year or more back, I had the same thing. The post office record gave the date delivered. Amazon replaced the book. Two weeks later the original turned up. I think a substitute carrier probably left it in the truck he drove that day. I just now remembered another time, about four years ago Amazon sent one by UPS. The trace gave the time and date of delivery–the address was a vacant house in my block. The strange thing was that months later it turned up, correctly addressed, the box battered but unopened. In both cases, I returned the original books. Strange things happen!
